G&E Murgatroyd, James Hall & Co.’s company owned store division has raised a staggering £18,000 for Marie Curie in a busy week of fundraising for the charity’s national initiative, Blooming Great Tea Party.

Dressing SPAR stores in bright sunshine yellow, teams across 118 company owned stores were busy selling cakes and buns, promoting selected products and organising raffles to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

Teams were even surprised by Emmerdale star, Joe-Warren Plant, who visited SPAR G&E Warton wearing sunshine yellow, perfectly fitting into the Blooming Great Tea Party theme!

SPAR G&E Murgatroyd actively support Marie Curie throughout the year with fundraising activities, in-store promotions and automatic product donations.

In March 2018, SPAR G&E Murgatroyd raised over £11,000 for Marie Curie in a dedicated ‘Go Yellow Week’ and in January 2019, James Hall & Co. announced that they had raised £100,000 for Marie Curie during the course of 2018. Recent fundraising activities within the depot include a SPAR Blooming Great Tea Party within James Hall & Co.’s Preston depot, raising £247.
