Congratulations to independent SPAR retailer, Jos Richardson, who has been awarded the ‘Special Recognition’ Award in the Forecourt Trader Awards 2020.

Recognising excellence and innovation across the forecourt retail industry, the awards were especially poignant this year, after what has been a very challenging period for forecourt retailers.

Awarded through a virtual awards ceremony with magician and presenter, Stephen Mulhern,  SPAR picked up 11 awards nationally with north of England SPAR stores winning 2.

Jos Richardson, of Jos Richardson & Son, claimed the ‘Special Reconition’ award for his dedication and hard work in driving the family business forward, managing 8 stores in the north of England.

Also picking up an award, was one of James Hall & Co.’s company owned forecourt sites, SPAR Townsend Garage in Warton, Lancashire.

SPAR Townsend Garage is no stranger to awards, having collected the same award last year, beating another company owned SPAR store, SPAR Bedale, to the top spot for 2020. Recognised for its excellent facilities and customer service, the store achieved the coveted ‘North of England up to 4 million litres per annum’ category.
