Grimsargh Cricket Club show off their new kit sponsored by SPAR

SPAR has put Grimsargh Cricket Club on the front foot to drive forward into the future through a new sponsorship deal.

The club, based at the heart of Grimsargh’s community with its ground on the village green, now has the SPAR brand across all of kits for matches and for training.

This includes all the adult teams – 1st XI, 2nd XI and the Sunday and midweek teams – plus the club’s burgeoning junior section which has a rapidly growing membership. A SPAR sponsorship sign has also been put up at the ground.

As part of the sponsorship arrangement, SPAR is also going to support the club’s Billy’s Big Bash event on Sunday 17th August, with proceeds from the day split between the club and St Catherine’s Hospice.

The sponsorship has been arranged through James Hall & Co. Ltd, SPAR’s primary retailer, wholesaler and distributor for the North of England.

A friendly cricket match between a Grimsargh Cricket Club XI and a James Hall XI will also be played at a future date as part of the sponsorship.

Phil Garlington, Grimsargh Cricket Club Chairman, said: “We are committed to nurturing upcoming cricket talent and ensuring the cricket club remains a key part of village life here in Grimsargh.

“This support and commitment from James Hall & Co. Ltd and SPAR should not be underestimated for how crucial it is in helping us to maintain and upkeep everything to do with the cricket club.

“It is great to have a company with strong links to the village on our shirts and kit. We look forward to continuing to work with them and all the organisations, businesses and individuals who support what we do at Grimsargh Cricket Club now and in the future.”

Fiona Drummond, Company Stores Director at James Hall & Co. Ltd, said: “It is a pleasure to support Grimsargh Cricket Club with SPAR’s sponsorship. The branding looks fantastic on the sign and shirts, and it neatly aligns to our values of nurturing our neighbourhoods.

“Our SPAR Distribution Centre is only a short distance away, and in the other direction, there is Ann Forshaw’s Alston Dairy which is part of the James Hall Group of Companies. Many of our colleagues live locally so we are on the doorstep.

“It was also lovely to be invited down to junior practice at the centre of the village. As a cricket fan, I was enthused to see the number of young people enjoying playing the game wearing the new kit and wearing smiles on their faces.”

James Hall & Co. Ltd is a fifth-generation family business which serves a network of independent SPAR retailers and company-owned SPAR stores across Northern England six days a week from its base at Bowland View in Preston.
