James Hall & Co. has celebrated the culmination of a successful QUIDS IN text-to-win campaign by awarding a £10K jackpot to retired teacher, Susan Singleton from Yorkshire.

Designed to give SPAR customers a helping hand and drive SPAR’s commitment to outstanding value throughout 2021, Susan (69) from Otley was absolutely thrilled to have scooped the top prize in the twelve week marketing campaign.

“I couldn’t believe it at first and thought it must be a hoax!” explained Susan. “Finding out I had won £10,000 was such a wonderful surprise and the money really couldn’t have come at a better time.

“Everyone has had such a difficult year and our four children have all been affected by the pandemic and placed on furlough. I feel very lucky to be able to give them a share of the winnings and then use the rest to re-pave our patio and get the garden ready for summer.”

Susan added, “It really has been a huge surprise and a lovely one, just in time for my 70th birthday!”

Susan collected her winnings from her local SPAR store, SPAR Guiseley, which is owned by independent SPAR retailer and Leeds based family business, Valli Forecourt Ltd.

Peter Dodding, Sales and Marketing Director at James Hall & Co., said “QUIDS IN saw almost 40,000 entries from across the north of England and customers were awarded a range of SPAR vouchers to help with shopping bills and spread a little positivity during the current climate.

“The campaign helped to drive footfall to SPAR stores and offered our network of independent SPAR retailers an exciting and colourful marketing campaign, fully supported by a suite of in-store POS, social media assets and paid-for digital activity. We are looking forward to launching another text-to-win campaign in the summer that will offer more prizes and in-store discounts for SPAR customers to enjoy.”
